Lots of modern writing suffers from this, and audiences have been giving dreadfully inconsistent and nonsensical films like Frozen a free pass, rather than calling them out for what they are. Then Thor waded into a pool which magically gave him the insight he needed to jolt Vision into life for… some reason that made about as much sense as a mouse getting a job as a cat masseuse. Tony Stark was magically given cryptic information about the Infinity War invasion of Earth which acted as his primary motivation for building Ultron in the first place.

Take the second Avengers movie as an example. Magic is very slowly destroying mainstream films. It often comes across as a cop-out an easy fix solution to problems where the audience can often feel cheated and characters’ journeys become more superficial.
Many writers struggle to incorporate magic well into their stories. I would put it to you that this is actually the opposite case. Furthermore, many of the more serious antagonists are powerful magic users. After all, they are the only magic users besides the alicorns. Now, given that there is such a big emphasis on magic throughout the show, one would think that unicorns would be given more time in the limelight than other species in Equestria. In my penultimate post about My Little Pony, I wanted to round off talking about the Mane 6 by mentioning two of Annika’s favourite characters, who both happen to be unicorns.
